Miss Pom telling us stuff about the hill tribes and briefing us about the elephant camp. |
![]() |
It took about half an hour or 45mins to reach the camp from our hotel. |
![]() |
haha... can't help it XD |
![]() |
The trip in the camp was kinda like a battle.. lol We had to follow a strict timing if not we won't be able to get any seats, because there were many other tour groups there. So it's a few minutes watching the little elephants taking their bath, then proceeding to the show area to grab our seats with good view. Very typical tour group rushing through the place of interest. :P Miss Pom urge us to follow her by looking at her umbrella with her name painted on it. |

They look at comfortable in the water! :D |
![]() |
I can't help but get a bunch or bananas and bamboo to feed the elephants~ They were too cute~ after performing soccer, painting, dancing and musical talent.. hehe.. |
![]() |
'you can give the whole bunch of banana.'\ 'ya? won't it choke?' lol nah... they love it the whole bunch :P |
![]() |
elephant love~~~ my first time getting squeezed by elephants XDDDD we took a slow stroll out of the camp after taking photos with the elephant and molesting them :P it was really cooling this morning... but as the time pass, the heat turned up slowly too... |
![]() |
little stores outside the camp for you to grab some souvenirs before leaving the camp. I love how blue the sky is... |

Miss Pom sent us back to our hotel, recommending us to visit the Sunday market that has stalls setted up mostly by the locals and hill tribe people. It is located at the Tae Pae Walking Street. I had a few places that I written on my little note book and this is one of them and I thought we weren't able to visit it because we had to leave the hotel at 3pm to the airport and it is written in books that the market only start at 4pm.. But there were early birds there! :D I was delighted, as you can see in the photo below, there were still some stalls that were not ready. Btw, this is when we shared our trip in the Song Thaew to the sunday market. 8 of us at only 12 bahts each, but the return trip to the hotel was even cheaper, 10 bahts each. LOL :D nice... |

they were all over the place. too bad i don't really know how to appreciate them :( should have gotten some as gifts for my friends... |
![]() |
lovely but then again, we have no space to decor them with. :( |
![]() |
ohhh yummy ice cream under the blazing sun! they made the most yummy looking street ice cream! Singapore ones are no where near them. lol and they are hell cheap! |
![]() |
10 baht cute bread ice cream :D~ they come in different toppings too. ^_~ |
![]() |
Siew Mais looking good. :D~ |
![]() |
The Smoke sausage was good compared to the herb ones. |
![]() |
chopping them into bite size. |
![]() |
sweet cup corn with sugar added and sugar syrup coated strawberries, think locals in Chiang Mai love sugar a lot, they are really sweet! many that's where they've gotten their sweet smile. :) |
![]() |
more sate! |
![]() |
and chicken meat balls! most of the food are like 10 to 20 bahts, they are really inexpensive to enjoy. I'm not the biggest fan for street food because I don't have the strongest stomach but I have to say that the street food were generally very clean and they were very well presented. It would be really a waste not to give them a try. :) These were our impromptu lunch! :D look for somewhere to eit down and enjoy them! |
![]() |
After the food and all, we venture to the street opposite of the sunday market to see what they have there because we still have some time left before meeting up with the rest to ride back to our hotel. |
![]() |
Actually the whole city is a market, as we walk down the street we saw street stalls get set up one by one, even in temples they had stalls in the court yard too. There were so much to look at but just too little time to enjoy. I bought a monk bag in the sunday market :D got the price down to about 40% about $6sgd I think. |

we met up at 3pm to go back to our hotel to gather and get transported to our hotel. Miss Pom did a good job at rushing us to the airport and getting us to queue before the other tour groups arrive. |
![]() |
While waiting to catch the plane, we relaxed here to have our early dinner because we didn't really enjoy the dinner in the plane previously so we'll just have something before we get on the plane incase we can just skip the plane's dinner. :P |
![]() |
erm... not so much from the paradise.. ^^;; the food and drinks don't taste that good BUT still better than the plane food. lol |

|

I make better tuna sandwiches :P |
![]() |
|
![]() |
Jason and I had mutton with potato on the plane, heard that some people had the other set meal and later had upset stomach :( I was having a hard time with my sunburnt face, trying to sleep on the plane, occasionally waking up to see long queue to the loo. O_o; |
![]() |
I love this trip to Chiang Mai minus my sun burn :P I regretted that I didn't do somethings and take more photos of some things but I have no regret at all visiting this place. It is a place with wonderful people, food and everything. :) Definitely a place to visit again. See you again Chiang Mai! |
